AI in Education
Empowering educators and learners with AI tools and knowledge for a more equitable educational future.
AI in Education Initiative
The AI in Education initiative aims to transform education by thoughtfully integrating AI technologies in ways that enhance human teaching and learning rather than replacing them. We work at the intersection of education, technology, and ethics to create tools, frameworks, and resources that empower educators and learners to navigate the AI revolution.
Our Learning Experience Platform (LXP) approach combines hands-on AI tools with structured learning pathways, enabling educators to master AI skills in context and apply them directly to their teaching practice.
Our Approach
We believe that AI in education should:
- Amplify human potential, not replace it
- Promote equity and accessibility
- Respect privacy and agency
- Foster critical thinking and AI literacy
- Adapt to diverse cultural and educational contexts

Cornerstone Project
Reframing AI in Math Education
Our flagship research report examines how AI tools can transform mathematics education when integrated thoughtfully into curriculum and teaching practices. This cornerstone work focuses on developing foundational understanding of AI's role in mathematical learning environments.
Two-Pronged Approach
The report introduces our innovative two-pronged approach to AI integration in mathematics:
1. Tool-First Perspective
Treats AI as a powerful tool for problem-solving, emphasizing how AI can augment mathematical reasoning and expedite calculation while still requiring human oversight and interpretation of results.
2. Learning-First Perspective
Focuses on how mathematical understanding can be enhanced by exploring AI's limitations and capabilities, using AI errors and reasoning patterns as opportunities for deeper mathematical engagement.
Key Findings
- AI can help personalize math learning paths for diverse students
- Teachers who co-create with AI report higher satisfaction and outcomes
- Critical thinking skills improve when students learn to evaluate AI-generated solutions
- Equity concerns must be addressed deliberately in AI implementation
Impact
This research has informed curriculum development in 50+ school districts and has been featured in educational policy discussions internationally.
